The End Of Summer Is The Beginning of Crushing Q4

By Gina Trimarco, Chief Results Officer

All summer long it’s so normal to get those reply emails that start with “I’m on vacation until xyz date.” It’s a CRM juggling game of proving to your bosses that you really, truly are following up on new business but “they’re on vacation, I left a message” becomes the excuse for many.

Business in the summer is definitely challenging. Everyone you’re interested in connecting with is on vacation at some point. And not just prospects and clients, but your vendors and employees as well. Even if they’re not on vacation there are the ones who are on vacation in their heads because their kids are still on summer break or summer activities are simply distracting.

Summer, just like “the holidays”, cannot stop you from pursuing new business or reaching company goals. It can be a nice little diversion for a few moments but if you take your eye off the wheel the competition will swoop in, vendors will drop the ball and employees become complacent.

Here are the advantages of summer and of summer coming to an end:

  • It’s a great time for strategic planning and marketing: write those blogs, research those prospects, execute those team building sessions (even if some employees will be absent)
  • Most business executives are ready to jump back in full force after Labor Day to finish the quarter strong; they have budgets to spend up, goals to hit and new budgets to plan – end of summer is an awesome time to line up your Q4 action items and then hit the ground running on the first Tuesday of September
  • And remember, the Q4 window is short with Thanksgiving sucking everyone back into a holiday vortex, so revisit and revise your plans while everyone else is “on vacation” and sleeping at the wheel

We can help you get your end-of-year plan in place to crush those goals.

Don’t let the summer make you feel stuck. It’s time to pivot!

Here are some ways we can help:
